Mount Olympus Wellness is proud to present Michael J. Lavery, considered a modern day Renaissance Man.He is a painter,
sculptor, musician, professional caliber athlete, researcher and pioneer in
applied neuroscience, as well as a published author and lecturer. He attended Exeter Academy and matriculated to
Amherst College. He graduated with a
degree in Fine Arts and lettered in four varsity sports.Upon
graduating from Amherst in 1982, he signed a professional baseball contract
with the Toronto Blue Jays.However, after
a stint in the minor leagues, he came to a crossroads in his life and decided
to pursue his vision of being a professional artist.
In 1984, he moved to Laguna Beach,
California, and immediately found the art colony of his dreams. Being a "plein-air" painter, the climate and ambiance of the
community was a perfect match for the artist. Michael has expanded the realm of his subjects to include Europe, the East Coast, and the Hawaiian Islands. Many works are
published as limited edition lithographs, serigraphs and giclees. His
originals and limited editions are now in collections all over the
world.
